I love candles, and what better way to show my love for them than by making them myself! It all started when I noticed how often I would burn a candle. Whether it was painting the walls, knocking down shelves, cleaning, redecorating or a simple nightcap, I would find myself lighting a candle. As you can see, I love working with my hands and so one day I picked up a candle and said, " I can make this." However, I wanted to bring a more personal and hands on approach, which is why I wanted to make the concrete vessels as well. 

So, I started with simple molds from Amazon and then eventually worked my way up to the molds that I use now. This was a very tedious process, and I love every second of it. When I say I tested and tested and tested and tested some more! I know nothing in life is perfect, but I do know that taking the time out to make quality pieces means that I want others to experience the best parts of me. It was also the reason why I chose coconut wax, which is a cleaner burning wax and is safer than your traditional candle wax.

Why is my brand called Osisi Canvas?  The word “Osisi” means tree in Igbo. When I was younger, God told me I was a tree, which represents “ strength, individuality and expression, calmness, growth and the interconnectedness of everything.” I put the word “Canvas” with it because I see my home, life, and this world as one big canvas and I simply just want to leave my mark.
